Thin Coatings

PVD – Physical Vapour Deposition

Thin coating process (thickness of 2-5µm) in vacuum deposition where a material is, transformed in vapour, transported and finally deposited in the surface of the base material.

Advantages

· Higher components lifetime
(cutting tools, moulds, stamping and progressive tools, etc.)
· Lower maietenance and repair times
· Costs redution
· Higher global productivity
· Higher product quality
· Reduction or elimination of lubrication

HardTiN®

TiN

General Characteristics

. High wear resistance.
. High hardness and resistance to oxidation at moderate and low   temperatures.
. Good corrosion resistance.

Typical Applications

Cutting tools: general coating for Hard Metal or High Speed Steel tools. Cut at low and moderate speed parameters.
Injection moulds: coating of injection moulds and machines components submitted to wear, corrosion and seizing.

Injection Moulds: coating of moulds and injection or extrusion machines components submitted to wear, corrosion and seizing.

Forming tools: coating of tools to cut and stamp metallic materials. Tools for powder pressing.

General wear applications.
